“The memory of a world which used to pass by me is evoked in these paintings.I have laced surreal and imagined landscapes and portraits with elements from my past, adopting a western painting style to express oriental culture and concepts. I also have used symbols which have special significance, particularly the dragon. The dragon is a symbol of power and the authority of the emperor.

Chinese ink paintings present nature not as an objective form, but as a human subjective, where western landscape paintings focus more on the objects themselves.”
